Adopting a Rescue Guinea Pig
At Kittle Garden Farm Guinea Pig Rescue, our priority is finding happy, safe and loving homes for every guinea pig in our care. We are a small, home-based rescue and take time to match each guinea pig with the right family.

Our adoption process
At Little Garden Farm Guinea Pig Rescue, we want to ensure every guinea pig finds their perfect match. Our adoption process is designed to be thorough yet straightforward. It begins with an application, followed by a chat with our team to understand your experience and what you're looking for, and finally, a suitable enclosure check. We're here to guide you every step of the way to adopting.
As a small rescue, our sheds are not packed full of guinea pigs. This means we may not always have the exact age, gender or colour you are hoping for at that time, but we promise to always put the guinea pigs’ welfare first.
Please don't be offended if we don't offer you the guinea pigs you havasked for, we are looking for the perfect match for the best outcome for you and the guinea pigs.

Happy homes, happy piggies: enclosure sizes
A spacious and stimulating environment is crucial for a guinea pig's health and happiness. We provide detailed guidance on appropriate enclosure sizes, emphasising the need for ample space for running, popcorning, and exploring. We will discuss minimum recommended dimensions and offer advice on setting up a stimulating habitat with hideys, enrichment, and proper bedding. Ensuring the right enclosure size is a key step in providing the best home for your new pet.
Housing Requirements Guide
Guinea pigs need:
Large, secure enclosures (minimum 5ft x 2ft for a pair, larger is always better) we may request larger enclosures depending on the guinea pigs you are interested in adopting.
Safe companionship
Unlimited hay
Fresh vegetables daily
Good quality nuggets
Regular cleaning and health checks
We are always happy to offer advice on housing and diet before you adopt.

Adoption Donation
We ask for an adoption donation which helps us continue rescuing and caring for guinea pigs in need. Your donation goes directly towards helping more rescue guinea pigs.
Our minimum suggested donation
Female guinea pig £30
Male guinea pigs £20*
Neutered males £60* (this only partially covers the medical costs of neutering)
*To encourage adoption of male guinea pigs which of often overlooked we offer a reduction in adoption donations.
A lifelong commitment
Adopting a guinea pig is a rewarding experience, but it also requires a significant commitment. Guinea pigs typically live for 5-7 years and need daily care, including fresh food, water, cage cleaning, and social interaction. They are social animals and often thrive best in pairs or groups. We look for adopters who understand this long-term commitment to care, health, and companionship. Our dedicated rescue is here to offer support and advice throughout your guinea pig's life.
